How we work

What an engagement actually looks like, end to end.

At this tier, the absence of a clear engagement letter is itself a signal. This page documents how the work runs from the first call to the last invoice, so a senior buyer knows exactly what they would be agreeing to before they ask.

    First call · 30 minutes · no charge

    We use the time to diagnose, not to sell. You leave with a sharper read on the situation whether or not we end up working together. If it isn't a fit, I will say so on the call and, where I can, point you to someone better placed.

    Written proposal · within 48 hours

    A two-to-four-page document. Named program, scope, deliverables, cadence, total investment, payment terms, start date, and the explicit outcome we are working toward. No tiers, no upsells, no estimates that move. The number on page one is the number on the invoice.

    Contracting · mutual NDA available

    Engagement letter signed by HUMAN PERFORMANCE RESEARCH SRL. Mutual NDA on request — most senior engagements run under one by default. E&O insurance in place. No auto-renewal, no exclusivity clause, no non-compete restricting your future moves.

    Cadence · personally run

    Every session is run by Dan. No associates, no handoffs, no junior coach behind the curtain. Standing weekly or bi-weekly slot on the calendar, plus asynchronous text and voice access between sessions for live decisions — interview debriefs, board prep, an offer landing on a Friday night.

    Confidentiality · the default, not the upgrade

    Nothing said in a session leaves the session. Case studies on this site are anonymized; named references are introduced only after the relevant client has explicitly agreed. Your employer, board, recruiters, and peers will not learn we are working together from us.

    IP · yours

    Frameworks, narratives, scripts, and documents produced inside the engagement are yours to keep and use without restriction after the engagement ends. The underlying methodology is mine; the artifacts built for you are yours.

  7. 07
    Exit · clean

    Engagements end on the date in the engagement letter. No drift, no re-contracting reflex, no maintenance retainer dressed up as continuity. If a second engagement makes sense, we will both know — and it will be its own decision, not the default.

Operating posture
  • · One client per slot. Engagements are capped so each leader gets the bandwidth the work requires.
  • · No referral kickbacks, ever. If I recommend a lawyer, recruiter, or therapist, I am paid by you, not by them.
  • · No scope creep. If the work changes shape, we re-contract in writing — we do not "just keep going."
  • · No CRM nurture sequences, no marketing automation in your inbox. You hear from me when there is something to say.
