Most senior leaders don't get stuck on skill. They get stuck because they're too useful where they are.

The path here.
I spent 20+ years inside the machine: Software Developer → Solutions Architect → Technical Director → Global Director of Delivery across US, EMEA, and APAC. I scaled 50+ enterprise platforms moving billions of requests per month.
I've sat in the seat you're sitting in. I know what board rooms look like, what severance burning feels like, what an unprotected senior bench actually costs, and what it costs to stay when the situation is untenable.
I left operational leadership to build this advisory specifically because the gap I kept seeing wasn't a shortage of capable leaders. It was a shortage of access to honest, peer-level strategic thinking with no agenda attached.

The wrong job cost me a year of my lungs.

I was in a role that looked right on paper. Senior title. Senior comp. Visible work. Privately, I was running on fumes — making decisions for everyone, carrying responsibility no one had formally given me, and telling myself it would settle down after the next quarter.
It didn't settle down. It ended with severe pneumonia and roughly a full year spent recovering my lungs. The doctors were precise about what had caused it: chronic stress in a job that no longer fit the person I had become.
That year is what eventually became a TEDx talk and the reason I left operational leadership to build this practice. The thesis is simple, and I see it confirmed almost every week: career drift is not a career problem. It's a health problem with a career disguise.
When you sit across from a senior leader who is "fine, just busy" — and you've been that leader — you stop letting them stay there.
What clients say on the record.
“Dan is one of the sharpest minds I've worked with on engineering leadership and delivery at scale. He sees problems three moves ahead and gets to the operating change underneath them, not just the symptom on the surface.”
“In the challenging and stressful world of enterprise technology Dan is an absolute breath of fresh air. He's calm and experienced and he creates great confidence with his approach and reliable delivery. He's enormously capable, a problem-solver and a leader. I would not hesitate to recommend Dan to any leader or organization.”
